STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Strength & Conditioning

Our Strength & Conditioning  (S & C) classes are physiotherapist-led and clinically informed, designed to improve your functional movement, strength, balance and cardiovascular fitness. Classes focus on exercises that help you move more easily in everyday life, reduce injury risk, and support long-term health.

Individual Assessment Required

  • Support rehabilitation and graded return to movement
  • Optimise alignment, control, and movement efficiency
  • Improve strength, stability, and joint load tolerance
  • Promote long-term musculoskeletal health

An individual physiotherapy assessment is required before starting classes. This ensures your program is safe, effective, and tailored to your needs.

During your assessment, we will:

  • Review injury history and current symptoms
  • Assess functional movement patterns, joint mobility and strength
  • Identify any areas requiring modification or progression
  • Ensure appropriate technique and loading strategies

Functional training for everyday life

Our classes focus on movements used in daily activities: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, squatting, reaching and walking.

We use functional, full-body exercises that train strength, coordination, power, speed, agility, and cardiovascular endurance — all in one session.

How Classes work

Classes target bilateral, weight-bearing movements, activating multiple muscle groups at the same time.

We engage your myofascial slings — the natural lines of muscles and connective tissue — to improve fluid, efficient movement from head to toe.

Exercises combine upper and lower body actions, e.g., a squat with an overhead lift using weights, barbells or bands for added challenge.

The classes are run both as circuits and as a group class interspersed with some cardio to give you a whole body workout.
